Chat Line Keypad Functions

Chat lines can only be accessed via phone calls. Users should become familiar with the various keypad options in order to navigate and interact on the chat lines easily.

Today, we will review all the keypad options available on chat lines, with the goal of helping you memorize some of them for the next time you decide to call in.

Press “1” to initiate a private chat.

By pressing the number “1” on your phone keypad, you can send private chat invitations to any user connected to the chat line. To give users time to respond, you can send only one request per minute. If a user doesn’t respond within one minute, the request is automatically canceled, letting you continue searching and sending more private chat invitations.

Press “2” to record and send a private voice message.

By pressing the number “2” on your phone keypad, you can send short private messages to other users on the line. If a user is not currently online, the recording will be saved for them to listen to later when they log back into their account.

Press “3” to move on to the next profile.

Chat lines offer numerous options, and you may need to skip some that aren’t a good match for you. By pressing “3” on your phone keypad, you can instantly move on to the next available caller in the queue.

Press “4” to add or remove users from your favorite list.

Users can add or remove callers from their personal favorites list by pressing “4” on their phone keypad. This option is only available after finishing a private conversation.

Press “5” to activate location-based matching.

Chat lines typically use a topic-based algorithm to match users with one another. By pressing “5” on your phone keypad, you can switch to a location-based matching algorithm, allowing you to connect with people nearby.

Press “6” to play a previous profile.

If users accidentally skip a profile too quickly, they can press “6” on their phone keypad to go back to the previous user profile.

Press “7” to block a specific caller.

If you decide after a conversation that you don’t want to interact with someone any further, you can easily block them by pressing “7” on your phone keypad. Blocking a user prevents any future interactions, such as private chats and private voice messages with that person.

Press “8” to find out a user’s city.

If your phone date is going well and you’d like to know which city the caller is dialing from, simply press “8” to reveal the name of their city.

Press “9” to listen to a user’s profile message again.

On chat lines, it’s common to listen to about 5-20 profiles before starting a conversation. With so many profiles, it’s easy to miss important parts of a greeting message. By pressing “9,” you can replay a user’s profile message to catch any details you might have missed.

Press “*” to reach customer service.

By pressing “*” on your phone keypad, you can directly contact the customer service of the chat line company. Representatives from the chat line offices are available to assist you between 9am and 5pm PT. Outside of these hours, chat lines rely on third-party call centers to help users.
Press “#” to exit a private conversation.

Press “#” to end any conversation.

By pressing “#”, you can exit any active conversation you might be in, and the system will take you back to the main chat line menu.
