X-Hive/DB 5.0 release, X-Hive/Docato 3.0 released, Tekom Wiesbaden

Welcome to the X-Hive Corporation Newsletter.

X-Hive/DB 5.0 released
======================
X-Hive Corporation released version 5.0 of its industry strength native
XML
database.

New features are:
-----------------
- 3-Tier configuration, pure data server
X-Hive/DB is now standard configured as a separate database server.
This allows you to build a classic 3-Tier architecture where the
database server resides on a separate machine.

X-Hive/DB can also be configured as a single process where the
database
server runs within the jvm of your application. This allows you to
easily run X-Hive/DB applications directly from a CDROM.

- 100% pure java, performance increase
X-Hive/DB is now 100% pure java, which results in an overall
performance
increase in both query and write operations. The API has been
extended.

It is now possible to set a maximum size for database files,
helping to have a database span multiple partitions without the
need for external storage management tools.

- XQuery implementation update
The XQuery implementation has been updated according to the
specification
  of August 22, 2003.

- JAAS Support
X-Hive/DB 5.0 support authentication using JAAS. This allows you to
easily
use external authentication servers such as LDAP.

- improved administrator client

The Administrator client has be extended. It is also possible to
connect
to a remote X-Hive/DB database server using the Administrator client.

New platforms:
